ETDPA short summery
The Ethiopian Training and Development Professionals Association (ETDPA) was established with the aim of advancing the training and development profession, recognizing the needs and work ethics of professionals, and contributing to the growth of the sector in Ethiopia and beyond. ETDPA is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and practices of training and development professionals, providing research-based recommendations for policy makers, practitioners, service users, and the wider community. Additionally, it advocates for local training and development practices and philosophies that deserve recognition and respect, while also serving as a center of expertise in the industry. The association was founded in 2022 under the proclamation number 1113/2019 by the Authority of Civil Society Organizations in Ethiopia and is registered with the number 6295.
ETDPA is led by a president and six other board members. It is a nationwide association with members in all regional state cities in Ethiopia, as well as a focal person in South Sudan, Kenya, and Finland. All members possess extensive experience in research, training, and consultancy services, and they are available to undertake assignments in their respective local areas. Currently, ETDPA has offices in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa. In a short period of time, the association has prioritized its organizational development, which includes activities such as member registration and the formulation of internal directives such as financial policy, gender policy, members' benefit package policy, strategic plan, communication policy, and volunteerism policy.
