The significant influence of traditional professionals during the Adwa victory underscores the essential responsibilities of modern professional associations in Ethiopia and across Africa as they confront contemporary challenges and promote societal advancement. With 228 officially recognized professional associations operating in Ethiopia in diverse sectors such as training and development, culture, journalism, technology, healthcare, economics, and education, these organizations are tasked with advancing their respective fields, upholding professional ethics, enhancing knowledge and practice, and providing critical support to communities and policymakers. By fostering collaboration among professionals, maintaining the dignity associated with their vocations, and addressing the expectations of society, contemporary professional associations play a pivotal role in tackling modern issues and driving progress within their communities, much like their predecessors did during the historic Battle of Adwa.
